Review:

I kept going back and forth on how I felt about this book. I am a sucker for a good hockey romance trope, but the “spice” took away from the story line for me personally. Icebreakers follows the love story of an ice skater and a hokey player, um-hum, hence the title. Both are college students who have lofty dreams of become an Olympian and a professional hockey player … obviously. Without spoiling too much, they are forced to work together and they eventually fall in love. At the end, it felt like the couple was completely in love without any plot development of their relationship. I am glad I read this book once, but am not sure I would pick it up again.

This book is definitely a “cozy” winter read. I am a big believer in seasonal reading and I think I would have enjoyed this book more if it was snowing out & I was snuggled up with a warm drink. This is a “booktok” book I found a little overhyped. I know sister #1 agrees and in her words there is "literally no plot - this book is trash". Lots of our friends really enjoyed this book so this may come as a hot take.

Recipe:

Spicy Hot Chocolate - I don't think too much explanation is needed for this one. If you end up reading this book by yourself or with friends check out this recipe below. Sweet, spicy, and cozy just like the book.
